On 20 February 2026, the conference "Possible Mission: A Sustainable Baltic Sea" took place at the Latvian Parliament (Saeima) in Riga. One of the MarTe consortium partners, the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Latvia, was a co-organiser of the event. It brought together policymakers, scientists, businesses and civil society representatives to discuss Baltic Sea environmental protection, sustainable governance and the development potential of the blue economy. At the conference, two other MarTe consortium partners delivered presentations: the Latvian Investment and Development Agency (LIAA) and Kurzeme Planning Region (KPR).

The first MarTe technical workshop, “Physical Modelling for Blue and Green Transitions: Deep-Tech Tools from Lab to Market,” brought together researchers, engineers and industry representatives to examine how advanced simulation tools support maritime innovation in the Baltic Sea region. The event focused on physical modelling — digital methods that allow engineers to test and optimise ideas virtually before building physical prototypes. Across the presentations, modelling was shown not as a side tool, but as a central part of research, development and technology deployment.

On 20 January, 17 partners of the MarTe consortium gathered in Pärnu for an in-person co-working day held at Estonia Resort Hotel & Spa.

MarTe will organise its first Technical Workshop on 4–5 February 2026, focusing on physical modelling and simulation tools that support innovation in the blue and green economy.

The MarTe vision veminar in Pärnu highlighted the opportunities of the blue economy and the need to establish marine test beds.

On 23–24 October 2025, more than 50 participants representing 35 organizations from Latvia and abroad gathered in Liepaja for the seminar “Latvia–Estonia: Marine Technology Excellence Platform for a Sustainable Blue Economy in the Baltic Sea.”
